The Champions are Crowned

After 8 days of competition, the winners of the 2017 Ontario Recharge with Milk Tankard and Scotties Tournament of Hearts have been decided.

On the women’s side, Team Homan came through the round robin with a 5-2 record, putting them in second place behind Team Harrison. They won convincingly over Team Auld in the semi-final, and put in a dominant performance in the final to secure their fifth¬†trip to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.Look for them in St. Catharine’s starting February 18, when they take on Team Canada in their opening match.

Team Howard will be representing Ontario at the Tim Hortons Brier, which will be Glenn Howard’s 17th trip to the national competition. After finishing the round robin in second place behind Team Epping, the beat Epping in the 1 vs 2 page playoff game and had better luck with some difficult ice in the final than their competitor, Team Tuck.

Cheer on Team Howard in St. John’s starting March 4 at 8:00pm, when they take on the qualifying team.

Start planning for next year, when Ontario’s best male curlers will hit the ice at the Summit Centre in Huntsville.

2018 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts

Ontario’s best female curlers will be competing in Whitby to represent Ontario at the national tournament.

    Please please arrange to televise the finals. Every other province’s finals seem to have been on TV, why not ours.
    We were at Cobourg and it was a fabulous venue. Kudos everyone.
